Walking with the Lord Jesus Christ gives us hope, peace, and joy- do you have that? Have you assessed your life and determined yourself to be right with God? We don’t just confess our sin and keep sinning, we confess our sin and repent of our sin, turning away from continuing in them. We can’t live in constant sin and remain in the glory of the Lord. The wages of sin is death, and sin separates us from the glory of the Lord. And we are not going to know, peace, love, hope, and joy if we are living in sin. If we live in sin and don’t repent after hearing God’s word, we live in condemnation. There is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. We should be full of the Holy Spirit and fire. And if we are, we will produce the fruit of the Spirit- love, joy, peace, goodness, gentleness, kindness, self-control, patience, and faithfulness. These are the characteristics of believing Christians that are a constant in their lives, fruit they produce always, day in and day out. We are not a Christian because we own a Bible and go to church. We are a Christian, when we take up our cross, deny ourselves, and follow Jesus’ commands above everything else, because as a Christian, Christ is our Master. And if we are living in sin, we are living in disobedience, and Christ isn’t our Master. We were commanded to “go and sin no more”, not to “go and sin some more”. Sanctification is the only way to be full of the Holy Ghost. If we live in sin, we are grieving and quenching the Holy Ghost. And if we don’t repent of grieving God, we could lose our salvation and the blessings of God that He wants us to have. If we die in sin without repentance, the consequence could be eternal damnation. Eternal separation from God and His goodness and love, and left to being eternally cursed and to perish without hope. Do you know if that is your case tonight? If it is, repent now and seek the Lord for His forgiveness and for sanctification so you can be baptized in the Holy Ghost and fire. Christians are to be a light on the hill for everyone to see. We cannot hide the light and be right with God. We are to confess Christ as Lord and speak His word to those around us. There’s no such thing as a part-time Christian. The Word of God is everything to a Christian to live by, if we don’t know it, then why not? What keeps you from knowing God’s Word by heart? Tonight, clear your heart and let God become your all. It’s not worth it to keep living in sin, and to possibly end up dying in condemnation. That’s a risk we are warned not to take- any of us could die the next moment. Make it right tonight and find your peace- it will be well worth it.
